Growth Groups

It is our vision at Ephrata Community Church that everyone would be saved, rooted, and grounded in Jesus Christ. We also understand that none of us drift toward spiritual growth. It doesn’t just happen automatically for any of us. Therefore, our Growth Groups are intentionally designed as a tool for you to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ.

The Growth Groups run throughout the year in three semesters – spring, summer, and fall – covering a variety of topics. We invite you to take a step and commit to a Growth Group that will further equip you to live a victorious and fruitful Christian life.

CONQUER – A Battle Plan for Purity

Living as “conquerors through Christ who loved us” is a challenge for men, especially since every man faces sexual temptations. We know that fighting to become free from sexual bondage is a marathon and possibly one of the greatest challenges we as men face in life. However, there is hope for any man’s mind battle. Living in purity is more rewarding and life-giving than anything you can imagine.

This 6-week focus provides a comprehensive teaching that enables Christian men to develop a strategy for living in freedom. This study lays out practical battle strategies, based on Scripture, for how men can prevail against hell’s master plan to rob intimacy and real masculinity.

Commitment: 6 weeks
Date: Every Thursday evening from May 24 to June 28
Time: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

(L.I.F.E.) Living In Freedom Every Day

Many of us long for the kind of healing that mends the emotional wounds of the past. Then on top of this we face difficult life issues, false beliefs, lies from the enemy, and sin which has resulted in strongholds that are putting a lid on our walk with Jesus Christ. However, we firmly believe that Jesus came to set His people free – that’s all of us!

This 6-week focus, using the book “The Bondage Breaker,” provides a step-by-step process for resolving personal and spiritual conflicts, breaking free from areas of bondage, renewing the mind, and experiencing freedom for everyday life.

Hearing God’s Voice

Hearing and knowing the voice of God is not only one of the most significant parts of our walk with Christ, but it can also be one of frustration and confusion. God’s Word promises that we will hear His voice, but how can we be confident that what we think we are hearing is truly God?

In this 6-week focus, you will discover the voice of God, become more sensitive to when He speaks, grow in discerning God’s voice in the midst of all other voices, as well as become confident that you can hear God’s voice.

Date: every Monday evening from May 21 to July 2 (no meeting on Memorial Day, May 28)

The Work of the Holy Spirit

Do you feel like your Christian life isn’t working or that you are operating on your own power? God put His Spirit in us so we can be empowered for living as His witnesses here on earth. At ECC, it is our heart that the Holy Spirit will be known as an active person at work in our lives. We want you to experience His baptism, to work in His power through the gifts He imparts to you, and to bless others by the fruit of His evidence in our lives.

In this 6-week session, you will learn more about Holy Spirit empowerment. Consider it as ‘on- the-job training’ and as a step of growth in learning more about the work of the Holy Spirit and the reality of Him in your life.

Truly Free – Breaking the Snares That so Easily Entangle

Are you attempting to follow Jesus and yet find areas in your life which you just can’t seem to have victory in? Maybe it’s a sin you have confessed again and again or a constant struggle with depression, anger, or lust. These long-imbedded patterns of shameful living continue to entangle you day after day, month after month, and even year after year. And all you want is to be free.

In this 6-week video-based study, best-selling author Robert Morris invites you into this glorious truth: that the promise of being set free from the slavery of sin is a promise to be set free completely! Although evil is real and Christians can be oppressed by it, we have the promise that the one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Jesus saves us, trains us to resist the power of evil, and delivers us from anything that holds us back. With Jesus, we can be truly free forever.
