Growth Groups

It is our vision at Ephrata Community Church that everyone would be saved, rooted, and grounded in Jesus Christ. We also understand that none of us drift toward spiritual growth. It doesn’t just happen automatically for any of us. Therefore, our Growth Groups are intentionally designed as a tool for you to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ.

The Growth Groups run throughout the year in three semesters – spring, summer, and fall – covering a variety of topics. We invite you to take a step and commit to a Growth Group that will further equip you to live a victorious and fruitful Christian life.

The Streams that Transform

God loves to meet His people and He does so in a variety of ways. This exciting study will look at six great traditions of faith – Holiness, Evangelical, Social Justice, Contemplative, Sacramental, Charismatic – and hear from people who encounter God through them. Everyone will examine the “stream” God has used most in their own lives and explore what God may yet want to use. We will also reflect on what it means to be part of a Church community that welcomes these various streams into its Body-life together.

This 6-week focus will suggest at least six ways (or streams) through which people encounter the living God. While not required, participants will be encouraged to read and reflect on Richard Foster’s book Streams of Living Waters: Essential Practices from the Six Great Traditions of the Christian Faith which will guide the discussion. Book will be provided

Truly Free – Breaking the Snares that so Easily Entangle

Are you attempting to follow Jesus and yet find areas in your life which you just can’t seem to have victory in? Maybe it’s a sin you have confessed again and again or a constant struggle with depression, anger, or lust. These long-imbedded patterns of shameful living continue to entangle you day after day, month after month, and even year after year. And all you want is to be free.

In this 6-week video-based study, best-selling author Robert Morris invites you into this glorious truth: that the promise of being set free from the slavery of sin is a promise to be set free completely! Although evil is real and Christians can be oppressed by it, we have the promise that the one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Jesus saves us, trains us to resist the power of evil, and delivers us from anything that holds us back. With Jesus, we can be truly free forever.
